Happy New Year! I know I am so so late since this is already the 2nd week into January but better late than never right? December wasn’t kind to me, with exams and Scabies together for me to handle was a nightmare. After the exams when I went back to Taiping it was just sleep sleep and sleep…After the shots doctor gave me I just need to lie down…Stupid la, when I say Scabies people just look at me so weirdly. It’s not from Tobbie ok? Quit saying she is dirty!
Anyway before I went back to Taiping I bought a sewing machine from Subang Carrefour. I suddenly felt like sewing after going crazy with exams and Scabies. It cost me RM799 but I paid using Dad’s credit card on a 6 mths installment. At first I wanted to buy it at Harvey Norman Sunway Pyramid but they wouldn’t allowed installment because the value was not over RM1k. I bought a Brother sewing machine after much research. I know Singer is the best but Brother’s one is much more worth it for the price, value for money right?
Anyway some pics to show below:
The box it came in
The foot paddle that came with it:
The sewing machine has 25 stitch patterns and 57 stitch functions:
Also comes with a fast needle threader so that u don’t need to strain your eyes to put the thread past the needle hole:
The sewing machine model is BM-2600. It also has a buttonhole function which means you can sew button holes in your clothes with it plus it can also sew buttons, how cool is that but I have yet to try it. Will go and pull off hubby’s pants button to try this function….hehehehe *evil laugh*
Anyway I would say it is a really beginners friendly sewing machine, and if u really can’t get hold on how to start you can always refer to the dvd included within. This is a great machine with basic straight stitch and zigzag stitch. I bought this model also because it has some more advance decorative and heirloom stitch. Who knows if I could become more ‘advance’ to make use of these stitches one day right?
I am currently learning how to make totes from the Internet but am lacking in materials. I eyed some Japanese fabrics but they do come expensive so have to wait for CNY ang pau then.
Some (quite) successful items that I made during the holidays:
a stuffed owl for my little sis and below is a small bag I made for my mom using leftover fabrics:
That’s all for now, Happy always!
